Knitted wrist warmers & advent calendar

So last night I started a new pair of wrist warmers for another gift.  The yarn I am using is Mirasol Chirapa.  The color is Saffron Spice.  It is such a pretty color.  I can't wait to get working on a project with the Mars spirit I bought also.   I found the pattern on Cider Moon's website.  Their patterns and yarn look so awesome.  But on the main page of the website it says they are not doing business right now.  I emailed asking for info on when and if they will be doing business again because I think that their yarn colors are so pretty.  Hopefully they will sell their things again soon.  This is the first time I have ever done a pattern with YO so we will see how they turn out.  I had to rip out stitches last night because I forgot to remember to repeat the first pattern for 4".  It does help to pay attention and do what the pattern says.  Who knows what you would end up with! :)  I'll keep you posted!
Little Pinky Pie pony ended up with "candy" today.  Thank goodness it isn't real.  I don't need any more sweets.  I'm trying to be good until my Mom comes up next weekend and then we can indulge in the cookies, apple strudel, christmas strawberries, etc.  I'm glad to have her come up for the holidays.  One more week till Oma gets here.
On a more heartbreaking note, I would like to ask all of you to keep my friend Julie (in Houston) and her family  in your thoughts and prayers for they just found out the other day that her brother Nathan has a brain tumor.  The family is hoping that he can have his surgery in Dallas so that he can be near family so they can all help take care of him afterwards.  He is so young and this is so devastating for everyone.  Best wishes to a dear friends brother.  Our day hasn't been the same since we found out this morning.  We love you Julie!
