Sunflowers...

All of yesterday afternoon was spent out in the yard.
Enjoying the nice warm sunshine and beautiful cooling breezes.
I do enjoy cutting the grass believe it or not.
Especially when the weather is just right.
Not too hot.

Mowing the grass and much needed weeding needed to be done.
I must admit that I haven't been the best at keeping the entire yard up to par this year.
Some of the cause was hurting my ankle early on and then the other problem was lack of enthusiasm when it did feel better.  I did what I could.
So I just enjoy what I got this year with all the colorful blooms, in hopes that next year will be better.
And that I won't try to kill myself in the yard again and monkey up all my plans.
:)

As I was finishing in the garden area yesterday I couldn't help but notice all the sunflowers that had bloomed this year.  Some were already picked at and eaten by the birds.  It looked like they rather enjoyed all the blooms they had been feasting on so far.  There were some that had yet to be touched by the feathery friends.  I decided to 'save' some so that I could enjoy some of their glorious color in my kitchen.  Others were left for the little friends to feast on still.

As I was standing at the sink cleaning up after dinner, the evening sun came pouring through the windows as it does every evening at this time.
The light made the sunflowers glow in all their splendor.
I couldn't help but snap a few pics of all that gorgeous yellow that was in front of me.

I don't think I'm going to mind being by the sink at all while these beauties are staring back at me.

Here's hoping that everyone has a fabulous weekend!
There are lots of fun and happy things planned for around here.
Of course there will be pics of those events also to share with you.
