The end is near!!!

I must say that this past weekend was very enjoyable around these parts. A lot was accomplished.

Lots of cookie baking was done. I only had to help when it came time to operate the oven. Didn't want any burnt fingers you know. There was no wigging out on my part about little messes either. The girls did a FAB job with everything.
And we now have a supply of cookies that should at least last a couple of weeks. Cross fingers for that! And let's not forget the Baked Potato Soup. Absolutely FAB. And there was enough made to have two days in a row, which is always a winner around here.
And the most important part of the whole weekend...

All the major parts of the sweater were finished and seamed together!!!! You know I was jigging around every where! All that is left is the ribbing around the front sides and hood, make the buttonholes while ribbing and add buttons. You just don't know how great it is to see this project get closer to the finish line. Tomorrow there will be a quick trip to the fabric store before our PE group to get the buttons and cross your fingers that it will be done by Wednesday. Then next will be Brenna's sweater. Poor dear keeps watching to see how much longer Em's is going to take. She has been quite patient this whole time. At least now I know how to "decipher" the pattern and her sweater shouldn't take as long.
There was fabulous rain from the end of Saturday, all day yesterday and through the morning today. It was a grand weekend to kick back and just knit your little heart away. Cool temps here in the valley and snow up in the mountains. I'm sure a lot of people are hoping this is a good sign for the ski season this winter. As long as I have a warm blankie to wrap up in, heat, hot chocolate, my Ipod and a yarn project to work on; I won't be complaining about the weather.

Hope everyone else had a great weekend. This week looks like it is shaping up to be pretty darn good also. As long as I don't let things get to busy like last week, we should be doing just fine. I just have to remember to say the word "NO" a bit more often so things don't get out of hand. Anyhoo, I'll be back with Em's finished sweater in a couple of days. Just be patient! We've waited this long already. What's a couple more days?! :)

Toodles!!!

  7. No worries about not having time to blogsurf - you've clearly been busy!

I may have a crafting problem. In the picture of all the yummy cookies, I focused immediately on the cute little patchwork pumpkin on the table...!
