Happy dance...

Yesterday afternoon you may have heard a huge sigh of relief as I finished stitching the pocket onto Glenn's sweater.  I jumped up from where I was sitting, nearly throwing the thing across the room, doing a happy dance because this most irritating project was over.  Glenn says he likes it.  I'm glad because I don't.  I'm not recommending it all.

Now on to happier, cheerier things that will find it's way on the table soon.  A little mix of Valentine inspired colors along with others to make a quilty, patchy looking piece that will make me smile.
p.s.  Em says thank you to all who wished her a very happy birthday.  She had the biggest smile on her face when she was reading all the warm wishes.  And she sends BIG HUGS to you Libby for the wonderful, happy e-card you sent her.  She only watched it over and over and over...

And there is cheesecake still hanging around.  I'm trying so hard to be good and not root through it like a pig at a trough.  It's taking alot of control on my part.

  1. I'm with Glen, I like it. Can't wait to see your cheery project.

  2. Oh, I'm so glad you finished the sweater and even though you don't like it, it is still a beautiful sweater that your hubby likes. Yay!!!

Maybe you can ration the cheesecake like one bite for every huge portion of your latest project. That way you really "deserved" that piece. lol

  3. 12?????? Oh no, she's almost a teenager! Give her a big Happy Birthday hug for me.

I'm glad to see your quilt back up. I've missed it.

  4. If the recipient likes it, that's really what counts! I'm looking forward to your quilt.

  5. Hip Hip Hooray your done! Congrats it looks really great. Oh gosh i am behind on your post... life has been really hectic lately. Happy belated birthday to the new 12 year old. What a fun age. Cheesecake is my favorite and i'm with you i have been trying to be very good too. My son brought ice cream home for a surprise, well dang it was good. There's always tomorrow right.... Looking forward to seeing your quilt process. I am hoping for a little time with my machine soon. Take care and have a great week!

  6. I think it's a HUGE accomplishment to finish something you don't like. I have a vest, 98% done....I wish I would just finish it. Good for you! Glad hubby likes it.

  7. dear kar
the sweater is wonderful.....the colours are
fantastic and a great idea with the pocket,i like it.
have a wonderful time my friend,
    big hugs regina

  8. The sweater looks fabulous!!!
    What a lucky guy. :o)
I do the exact same thing you do when I finish a project. I just get so happy about it, I end up singing a little song, doing a little two step and lots of smiles!! :o)
    Have a great week.
    Sincerely, Trish

  9. I think that sweater looks very cozy....Very fall-ish. It will grow on you. And a crocheted quiltiness? Just up my alley.

  10. Congrats on the sweater! I think it's really nice and if Glenn likes it then you've done good work :) I know what you mean about doing a little happy dance, though - I did the same thing when I finished weaving in the million loose ends I had on my hubby's never ending sweater! Have a great week!

  11. Oh, yes. I know exactly what you are talking about. Making something, not enjoying it, not liking it...and everyone else loves it! So glad Glen likes it though.

And...come on down! While cooking supper, I thought about a BLT for breakfast. But now I'm fairly certain breakfast will be cornbread and milk. :-)

  12. Totally understand the feeling of finishing something that is, well, ahem, not a happy task to make. I am loving the looks of those squares though!
