After the rain...

After a few days of rain, I couldn't help but go wondering around the back yard this chilly morning and snap a few pics of the blooms that are starting to show themselves.

Plus lilacs always smell so awesome after it rains.

Strawberry plants are making a come back.

The Columbines are going to be thick again this year.

Once back inside I was deep in thought again about how to use my pile of Flea Market Fancy fabric.  I'm seriously leaning towards something with a granny square block.

Then there is some final touches with some dishcloths that are being made for Julie's shop.

Smiles are a sure bet whenever I get near these lovely blooms

and when I pass by my new white pitcher filled with flowers.  I smile at these also even though they are silks.  Love all the blues, whites and yellows in the bunch.

Now I'm off to have 1 or 2 of these yummy little cookies.
Before I start working out with Glenn this coming week.

I've got alot of catching up to do in that department.  He's already on week 8 of the P90X workout.  I'm only doing a portion of it just to work of some fluff.  I don't need the whole muscle thing.

It's a wonderful start to the weekend I do believe.

  1. It IS a great start to the weekend! Those lilacs look sooooo pretty. We don't get them here and I love them. They remind me of my grandmother since she had several large bushes. I think a "granny square" quilt would be quite lovely and I'll happily follow along your progress if that's what you decide to make. Have fun working out next week.

  2. Hubby brought home arm fulls of lilacs last night!
They are in vases all over the house and smelling divine:)
I love all your flowers in your lovely vessels.
I loved that couple days of rain, it sure cooled things down but now today we have 40 mph winds :(
    Oh well!
    Have a super weekend,friend:)

  3. Those Lilacs look stunning, I can only imagine what they smell like.
You are certainly going to have fun with those fabrics. If you'd like to seeing what someone else got up to with gorgeous fabrics, have a look at Lucy's blog Attic 24.
    Enjoy your weekend,
    Anne xx

  4. Everything looks so pretty and I have always adored your table runner. :0)

  5. Oh I wish I could smell those lilacs. In my mind, they have such a gorgeous scent. You have been quite busy and those dishcloths are amazing. I keep saying I'm going to make a whole bunch, but I quit after one or two. I do love handmade dishcloths though - the best!

Enjoy a cookie for me. I started this new diet/fitness tracker and apparently I inhale too much sugar. Imagine that...

  6. Your garden makes me envious! Fortunately I can enjoy it thanks to your photos and I won't be sneezing due to my allergies. :-)
Your table looks very pretty dressed with the table runner and the flowers. <3

  7. My lilacs are almost done, so I'll enjoy yours.

  8. Love the flower photos! So nice :-)

  9. The crochet patterns you used look so wonderful! I guess not easy to make. The fabrics are nice. Can´t wait to see what you are doing with these.

  10. hooray for spring!! and i'm jealous of that fabric stack. it'll make some gorgeous blocks.

  11. Oh my gosh those lilacs are gorgeous! I love this time of year too. Your table looks lovely, i remember when you made your runner, still looks great :). Wish i had time for my sewing machine your fabrics make my hands want to sew.... and i never did finish last year summer quilt ugh two summers ago.
