Spring time quilt...

A Spring time quilt patiently waiting for me to finish.

I finally decided how I wanted to quilt it.

Picked out the perfect binding.

It finally got its own photo shoot.

It turned out perfect.

(The wonky blocks were made by using Elizabeth's tutorial.  The rest of the quilt was made up as I went.)

** My sister and brother-in-law received the quilt on Friday and they love it.  I think my BIL is trying to scam another quilt out of me.  He said he wasn't sure if he liked this one much and maybe if I made another and sent it to him he could decide which one he liked best.  A scam operation if I ever heard one.  :)  I'm glad they both loved this one.

Spring time bouquet...

Lilacs.
One of my favorite flowers ever.
I'm so glad I have them in my yard.
Too bad they are only a Spring time flower.

A very good week...

This past week had to have been the best in a while.  In my book anyways.

A very spur of the moment project was started and completed in one day while others decided to go watch birds and I decided to stay home and work.  It was tough decision but well worth it.  A person can be very productive when there is are no interruptions.

The craft closet was finally cleaned out.  Long over due.  While there still might be some things to get rid of at least things aren't falling out any longer when the doors are opened.  Some lovely surprises were found that really have been calling to me the past few days.  I'm seeing some cross-stitching coming up in the near future.

Another quilt top was started.  Still in the planning stages at this point.

Someone had a birthday.  She was treated to a favorite dinner and a cake made by her big sis.  Ponies and sprinkles were the birthday girl request and she got it.  There are no more single digit kids in our house and I'm kind of sad about it.

Some very lovely evenings were had out on the front porch area.  Enjoying the pleasant temps, working on mindless knitting and stopping to see all the pretty colored flowers in front of me.

Several days you would have found us at the park just enjoying the sun filled day.  Just because.

The balloons surprised us on the start of Easter weekend.  Love this to pieces!  My favorite way to start the day and the Spring season.

A favorite breakfast had to be made to start the day out right after our balloon sightings.  A yummy sandwich and ice tea.  Perfect!

Everyone in the kitchen preparing yummy treats being prepared for Easter.  Fresh strawberries and rhubarb.  Awesome!

All coming together for Strawberry Rhubarb Shortcake on homemade Pound Cake.  Perfect for after a long walk after Easter lunch.

Looking forward to more of the same.

Spring has sprung...

I'm absolutely loving all the flowers that are starting to show themselves now around the yard.  The flower beds are starting to look fabulous!  My favorite at the moment are the Forget-Me-Nots.  The girls are in love with them also.  I want them to be in all the flower beds.  I must look for more seeds.

Early morning walk...

Everyone woke up early on Sunday so that we could go to one of our favorite bird watching/listening places not too far from our house.  One of my favorite places to go just to hear nature and nothing else. It was a perfect way to start a Sunday morning and spend a few hours with some of my favorite people.

A complete set...

All last week I had been wanting to work on this little project that I've had in mind since the beginning of creating my king size plus quilt.  I was determined to make pillow shams that matched my quilt.  Mismatched items just weren't cutting it any more.  It was driving me crazy.  And the quilt has been finished since right before Thanksgiving.  Enough of the waiting, the procrastinating, the interruptions.  So with one pillow sham already finished during the week (only took three days to do that)  I put my foot down, closed my craft room door and got to work Saturday morning.  It didn't take long before all was finished and the matching set came together.

While I still on a high that I actually accomplished this goal like I had planned, I took everyone out for drive-in burgers and milkshakes just for being so nice and not interrupting me during this marathon sewing event, no matter how small it was.  I might have to make this a routine thing so that I can get projects finished.  I won't complain.  It was a really good milkshake!

On a sunny but windy day...

My no-thought knitting project was calling to me today.  I was not about to argue with it.  It was the least I could do.  It was a good excuse to sit upstairs in the wonderful sunlight.
